Birdhouses
The other day I walked into the garage to find Brooklyn and her friend attempting to repair a very broken birdhouse that the friend had brought to our house. They had the Elmer's glue and were trying quite unsuccessfully to glue it back together. I went about my business and returned to the garage a short while later to see that they'd given up on gluing the broken birdhouse and were trying to build a new birdhouse.....out of paper. I suggested that it probably wouldn't work and that maybe Brooklyn could use some of her saved money to buy a birdhouse kit and make a brand new birdhouse. This idea was a big hit and when Damon heard about it he was totally on board as well.
The next day we went to Hobby Lobby and Brooky and Damon each bought their own birdhouse. We built them on Friday.

Damon was so excited to have his birdhouse finished, he couldn't wait to go to Wal-Mart to buy birdseed. We crossed that item off our "to-do" list Saturday morning and hung the feeder in the tree. Oh, and I had to chop off a couple of branches so Damon could see his birdhouse from the living room window. Damon kept saying he couldn't wait for the birds to come and kept asking me when they were going to show up. I reminded him that it might take a while for them to notice the new venue and also, that is was a really hot day and maybe the birds were hiding some place cooler. Check out his paint job. Very creative!

Here's some pics of Brooky's project:

Brooky wasn't quite as anxious as Damon to get her birdhouse in the tree; therefore, its still in the garage.
