Sound Asleep

On occasion, Damon has a bad dream. When this happens he comes upstairs to our bedroom and camps on the floor for the rest of the night. Sometimes he wakes me to tell me had a bad dream, other times he just goes right back to sleep and I make my own discovery when I nearly step on him in the morning. Ellie also sleeps on the floor in our room. Sometimes I'm really not sure who cuddles up to whom.

This was one time this past summer.

This was last night, or rather, this morning.

Though the nightmare part is not cute at all.
Dex has nightmares...he just wakes up screaming...not something cute to wake up too.

At least he feels safe right?

awesome! Maybe I should do that with Zoey when she comes in my room, often I wake up to her IN my bed!
I love when my dog/kids will cuddle up with each other.

Aww what a cutie! I love seeing kids in their sleeping state...they look so innocent and like they won't destroy your house in a millisecond.

Parade

Brittany decided to join the marching band this year. She plays the marimba. The band participates in a lot of parades and marched in the River Heights parade last Saturday. I thought Maya would enjoy the parade so she and I went and watched Brittany. Since the pit section cannot march with their instruments, they hold the shields and march in front of the rest of the band. Brittany is the last on on the right, holding the "T".

New House

We are building a new house!  This project has been in the works for a long time and we chose to keep it a secret until "Dig Day" because of how frustrating the process has been.  We began this adventure in February 2013 when we found the "lot of our dreams".  This piece of land was perfect.  Perfect location (in Providence), perfect size (0.96 acre), perfect orientation (house will face west).   The development process was long and difficult.  Providence City is not easy to work with.  Their requirements are extensive and often times ridiculous and unnecessary.  We've jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to where we are. We are building with Mt. Sterling Custom Homes.  They have a great reputation for designing and building high quality homes.  I had found a house plan that I really liked, had done some tweaking myself, then took it in to Mt.
