Following the Crowd

So, I've been feeling a little left out lately, like I'm not with the "in" crowd. Have you noticed how many giveaways bloggers are offering these days? Tons! How perfect for Christmas. Well, I wanna do it, too so I'm jumping on the band wagon. I'm offering a giveaway later this week, just for fun. I'm not telling what it will be, the clues I'll offer are:

#1 - It's something I've made.
#2 - It could be given as a Christmas gift (or not, depends).
#3 - It was inspired by a blog post I read last week (gee, that one narrows it down, doesn't it!).

Details and rules will be posted Thursday of this week, two days from now, at whatever time I get around to posting, probably in the morning. Contest will end Sunday night, I haven't decided what time that will be. Winner(s) will be posted Monday morning. Are you interested? Be sure and check back if you are.

I've never even attempted the give away blogs. But I'll have to check your out and see how it goes! I follow your blog ( almost stock really.) religously anyway!

Parade

Brittany decided to join the marching band this year. She plays the marimba. The band participates in a lot of parades and marched in the River Heights parade last Saturday. I thought Maya would enjoy the parade so she and I went and watched Brittany. Since the pit section cannot march with their instruments, they hold the shields and march in front of the rest of the band. Brittany is the last on on the right, holding the "T".

New House

We are building a new house!  This project has been in the works for a long time and we chose to keep it a secret until "Dig Day" because of how frustrating the process has been.  We began this adventure in February 2013 when we found the "lot of our dreams".  This piece of land was perfect.  Perfect location (in Providence), perfect size (0.96 acre), perfect orientation (house will face west).   The development process was long and difficult.  Providence City is not easy to work with.  Their requirements are extensive and often times ridiculous and unnecessary.  We've jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to where we are. We are building with Mt. Sterling Custom Homes.  They have a great reputation for designing and building high quality homes.  I had found a house plan that I really liked, had done some tweaking myself, then took it in to Mt.
