Turkey in Disguise

A couple of weeks ago, Damon brought home an assignment from school. He was given a paper with a large turkey on it. The assignment was for the kids to "disguise" the turkey any way they wished in order to help Mr. Turkey to avoid becoming the main dish come Thanksgiving. The kids could use anything they wanted to decorate their birds. There was no due date on the assignment, students were told to return it upon completion. Several of Damon's classmates handed theirs in and they were displayed in the hall outside the classroom. Damon came from school and announced that he wanted to disguise his turkey with lots of glitter because thats what some of the other kids had done. I didn't want him to copy everyone else so I suggested we turn Mr. Turkey into a giant plate of "spaghetti and meatballs". Damon liked this idea but still insisted on using glitter. We figured we could sprinkle glitter on the entree and call it "Parmesan cheese". Damon had such a good time making this.

HA! what a fun little project. And a very clever idea! Too stink'n cute! I'm with you, I don't want my kids work look like "everyone" else! I think it's good to bring out their own creative thinking!
Good job!

Very cute! He did a great job. I remember in 4th grade having a project somewhat like that. Fun stuff.
