Boot

Brittany went to the doctor this past week and traded her splint for a boot. Her leg is healing well but she can not put any weight on it for at least two more weeks. She has gone back to school, which is a good thing for both of us. I've learned how thankful I am for school buses and that I really take them for granted. I've been driving Brittany to and from school each day and it is a hassle. It will be nice when she can ride the bus again.

Hopefully the next two weeks fly by and she'll be taking the bus again before you know it! Brooklyn's room looks great too!

I agree yay for school buses! Love the boot, hopefully it will be easier for her to work with and that the next few weeks fly by! poor thing!

Parade

Brittany decided to join the marching band this year. She plays the marimba. The band participates in a lot of parades and marched in the River Heights parade last Saturday. I thought Maya would enjoy the parade so she and I went and watched Brittany. Since the pit section cannot march with their instruments, they hold the shields and march in front of the rest of the band. Brittany is the last on on the right, holding the "T".

New House

We are building a new house!  This project has been in the works for a long time and we chose to keep it a secret until "Dig Day" because of how frustrating the process has been.  We began this adventure in February 2013 when we found the "lot of our dreams".  This piece of land was perfect.  Perfect location (in Providence), perfect size (0.96 acre), perfect orientation (house will face west).   The development process was long and difficult.  Providence City is not easy to work with.  Their requirements are extensive and often times ridiculous and unnecessary.  We've jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to where we are. We are building with Mt. Sterling Custom Homes.  They have a great reputation for designing and building high quality homes.  I had found a house plan that I really liked, had done some tweaking myself, then took it in to Mt.
