Brooky's Answered Prayer
Monday night we had enchiladas for dinner. Brooky doesn't like enchiladas. The rule at our house is "eat it, or go hungry". If one chooses to "go hungry", one may not have a snack before bedtime. Hence the "go hungry" part. Brooklyn sat at the table for more than 2 hours picking at the food that I'm sure she knew she wasn't going to eat. I finally told her that her chance to eat was gone and she couldn't have ice cream after FHE. She got mad and cried.
It was Brent's turn for FHE. One of our stake goals this year is to have one FHE lesson each month that focuses on the temple. Brent did a great job explaining and talking to the kids about temple marriages and how they should decide right now not to settle for anything less. It was a great family night. The kids paid attention and contributed to the discussion. I love that they are old enough to discuss and ask questions. Anyway, after the lesson Brent asked Brooklyn to say the closing prayer. She started with the usual stuff and then said "....and please bless Mommy to let me have some ice cream...."
Brooklyn got her ice cream.....but not as much as everyone else.
