Damon Loses a Tooth

A couple weeks ago Damon was complaining of a sore tooth. After showing me which tooth was hurting, I suggested he might have a loose tooth. He was sure that wasn't the case. He was wrong and when he realized he really did have a loose tooth, he was so excited. (Brooky was mad because she was almost 8 years old before she lost her first tooth. Damon is 6.)

Last Sunday that tooth was just hanging by a thread and it was really bothering Damon when he'd eat. Brent told him to just pull it out. That was a long ordeal. Finally, Brent tied a piece of floss to the tooth and told Damon to yank it out. He finally got the courage to do it. When the tooth vacated the oral cavity, Damon just stood there in awe, with a mouth full of blood.


The tooth fairy left $5. The tooth fairy that came to my house when I lost my teeth sure didn't leave that much. Must be inflation.

Parade

Brittany decided to join the marching band this year. She plays the marimba. The band participates in a lot of parades and marched in the River Heights parade last Saturday. I thought Maya would enjoy the parade so she and I went and watched Brittany. Since the pit section cannot march with their instruments, they hold the shields and march in front of the rest of the band. Brittany is the last on on the right, holding the "T".

New House

We are building a new house!  This project has been in the works for a long time and we chose to keep it a secret until "Dig Day" because of how frustrating the process has been.  We began this adventure in February 2013 when we found the "lot of our dreams".  This piece of land was perfect.  Perfect location (in Providence), perfect size (0.96 acre), perfect orientation (house will face west).   The development process was long and difficult.  Providence City is not easy to work with.  Their requirements are extensive and often times ridiculous and unnecessary.  We've jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to where we are. We are building with Mt. Sterling Custom Homes.  They have a great reputation for designing and building high quality homes.  I had found a house plan that I really liked, had done some tweaking myself, then took it in to Mt.
