Honor Role

I should have posted this a couple of weeks ago. Brittany's first term of middle school ended the beginning of November and she worked really hard. She made the honor role with a 4.0 GPA; straight A's! We are so proud of her and I think she was quite pleased with herself as well. She really enjoys school and, for the most part, it comes easily to her. Britt's goal is the same for the second term and when she brought home that first report card, Brent's wallet was instantly $70 lighter.

Hi Tami! I just read your comment on Kristi's blog. I don't usually have time to read other comments, but I saw yours and it sounded like you were expecting! I just wanted to say congratulations! You guys have really cute kids and I'm sure this next one will be just as cute as the rest! You are going to have some great helpers with this little one as well!! I'm jealous about that! Good luck and tell Brent hi from us!

Parade

Brittany decided to join the marching band this year. She plays the marimba. The band participates in a lot of parades and marched in the River Heights parade last Saturday. I thought Maya would enjoy the parade so she and I went and watched Brittany. Since the pit section cannot march with their instruments, they hold the shields and march in front of the rest of the band. Brittany is the last on on the right, holding the "T".

New House

We are building a new house!  This project has been in the works for a long time and we chose to keep it a secret until "Dig Day" because of how frustrating the process has been.  We began this adventure in February 2013 when we found the "lot of our dreams".  This piece of land was perfect.  Perfect location (in Providence), perfect size (0.96 acre), perfect orientation (house will face west).   The development process was long and difficult.  Providence City is not easy to work with.  Their requirements are extensive and often times ridiculous and unnecessary.  We've jumped through all kinds of hoops to get to where we are. We are building with Mt. Sterling Custom Homes.  They have a great reputation for designing and building high quality homes.  I had found a house plan that I really liked, had done some tweaking myself, then took it in to Mt.
