Christmas 2010
We had a great Christmas this year. I think Christmas is always great but this year was extra special for us because Maya joined our family.
This year we continued with the traditions we began last year. Christmas Eve day started with a trip to the store to buy stuff of our junk food dinner. Everyone was pretty excited for this portion of our festivities. We never buy this kind of stuff so having it on Christmas Eve is something we look forward to. Earlier in the week Brent admitted he was almost more excited for our junk food dinner than for Christmas morning. And also earlier in the week Brittany said to me, "I can't wait for Friday." I asked why while reminding her that Christmas was Saturday and not Friday. She said she was excited for dinner.

As an extra special treat, we watched "Elf" while we ate dinner. The kids are almost never allowed to have food out of the kitchen so eating dinner in the family room was a pretty big deal.
After dinner we read our new Christmas book, then Brent read the Christmas story from Luke 2 and we watched the Christmas story put to the song "Breath of Heaven" on DVD. After that the kids headed to bed.
Santa was good to us this year, maybe a little too good. Damon got an art easel, art supplies, a DS game, an electronic chess set, a basketball and football. The girls and I each got a Zune (video MP3/media players). Brooky also got books, art supplies, clothes, and a game. Brittany also got a game, clothes, and a coat. Maya got clothes, a bear and a rag doll from Brent.

We spent Christmas day at home in our pajamas and had visits from Brent's parents and my mom.
I'm just realizing that with the exception of the few shots of Maya, we really didn't take any pictures of Christmas this year. We'll do better next year.
