Damon's 7th
We celebrated Damon's 7th birthday on the 8th. Where does the time go?! I cannot believe my baby boy (he gets mad when I call him that) is 7 years old.
Damon's birthday fell during spring vacation so he didn't have to go to school. He began the day by getting up early enough to hear his name on the radio and the DJ wishing him a happy birthday. He thought that was pretty neat. He chose money and a shopping trip instead of a party so he, Brent and I headed to Walmart. Damon could not decide what to buy. We started in the toy department and he looked at toys and games but wasn't sure about anything so we headed to electronics to look at video games. Not seeing anything that really caught his attention, we went to the arts and crafts section. After what seemed like forever, we headed back to the toys where Damon decided on Battleship and a pedometer (he's been wanting one for a long time). Next, he wanted to go to the dollar store. He bought a recorder and a bag of cheese puffs. The recorder doesn't work very well and he was very upset that it was "a piece of crap" (his words, not mine). Damon didn't spend all of his money, he's got some extra for when he thinks of something else he wants.
Damon loves fried chicken from Macey's and that's what he wanted for lunch. So we headed to Macey's to get chicken and he also wanted a cheesecake for his birthday cake so we got that too.
Damon got a new bike helmet, some summer clothes, a DS game, a rocket from Grandma Nette, and a Play Doh station from Grandpa Dave and Grandma Karen, white board markers from Brooky and Ramen noodles from Brittany. (I refuse to buy Ramen noodles so Brittany bought herself some at the dollar store a couple of weeks ago. Damon really wanted some so she bought him a pack for his birthday.) Damon also got money from Grandpa and Grandma Bartlett and Grandma Audrey and Grandpa Eddie. He had a good day.
Damon's current favorites:
Color: Red
Food: Couscous and fried chicken.
Candy: Licorice, Tootsie Rolls
TV Show: SpongeBob
Thing at School: PE
Thing to Do: Play DS
