Grandpa Eddie
Edmon Carver Hutchison, 81, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Logan Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Ed was born December 8 1932 to Edmon Dewy and Verna Carver Hutchison in Richmond, Utah, the youngest of four children.
Ed attended cache county schools, graduating from Logan High School in 1951. He then attended Utah State University before going to work at the family business, Gilt Edge Flour Mills in Richmond. He was a member of The Association of Operative Millers.
Ed married Audrey Jane Griffin December 28, 1953. They raised three children, Kim, Sally and Ned in Logan and North Logan.
Ed loved to golf and was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club for a number of years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Round Valley Hunting Club.
Ed was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, residing in the North Logan 12th Ward.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruth Ryan, brother, Robert Hutchison, and son, W. Kim Hutchison. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, daughter-in-law Lynette, daughter, Sally (Brooks) Tarbet, and son, Ned (Sherri) Hutchison, nine grandchildren, Tami (Brent) Suisse, Julie (Blake) Ballard, Kara (Phil) Foster, Eddie (Michelle) Hutchison, Kade (Jessica) Tarbet, Andy (Mallory) Hutchison, Kelsey (Brady) Bobka, Shanna Hutchison, and Blake Hutchison, 20 great-grandchildren, and sister Colleen Croxford.
There will be a viewing Tuesday, February 11, 6-7:30 at Neslon Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 12 at noon at the Logan Cemetery.
Grandpa did not want a funeral, in fact, he wanted to be cremated, but Grandma said no. The viewing for friends and neighbors was closed-casket, but before we headed to cemetery on Wednesday, we opened the casket so all the family could say goodbye.
We had family prayer, offered by Kade, then at the cemetery, Andy offered an opening prayer, the bishop made a few remarks and then Eddie dedicated the grave.
